Welcome to the Coleman Invitational

2020 Coleman Invitational NEW TIME - UPDATE 9/21

The Coleman Invitational ventured into the age-defying scramble golf format in 2018 and has never looked back.  The new format created both the shortest tournament, and the lowest score ever found in the Coleman Invitational annals. For the first time in recent memory the action is moving to the west side of the river and will be held at the tight and deceiving Crescent Farms Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri on Saturday October 10th. Like last year, a shotgun start is scheduled at 8am. (note the NEW TIME). Check out 2018's promo video [the media department was too busy practicing to supply us with a new clip this year–hey, we're still on a budget, too] to give yourself an idea of the tone of the contest: http://bit.ly/coleman2018

The cost is $80/man and that includes golf, food (burger, brat, chips) after the round, and drink tickets (4).  It also includes prize money for the winners, longest drive and closest to the pin.  The winners carry home the Coleman trophy and carry braggin' rights until next year's tourney.
Crescent Farms just did a remodel of it's clubhouse facility and they're waiting for us to put it through its paces with their outdoor grill and tap and seating as well as indoor accommodations. It's a great place for the Colemans to gather.
You can enter individually or in any combination of up to 4 golfers.  If you're short a golfer or two, don't worry, Jeff will get you paired up.  We have a limited field this year. First come, first serve, so please don't put the evil tournament director in the position of rejecting your late RSVP due to an insufficient number of slots available. Be safe and send your tournament fee germ-free to Jeff using the convenience of Venmo at @jeff-coleman-1812.

Please RSVP to the Coleman that invited you so we know you're playing and who you're playing with (and my mom says never end your sentence with a preposition). Thanks. And good luck.
More to come. See your nearest Coleman for more information.

2019 Coleman Invitational Announced

After forty years of competitive man-to-man grinding play, the Coleman Invitational ventured into the age-defying scramble golf format in 2018.  The new format created both the shortest tournament, and the lowest score ever found in the Coleman Invitational annals. However, tournament leaders, after pouring over last year's dizzying amount of golf sabermetrics from the event, have been unable to determine the true effective yield of the experiment and have announced a re-do.  So the 2019 Coleman Invitational repeats the 4-man scramble format at the spacious Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Illinois on Saturday October 12th. New for this year is a shotgun start at 9am. (note the actual time is NOT "after 9am"). Check out 2018's promo video [the media department was too busy practicing to supply us with a new clip this year–hey, we're on a budget, too] to give yourself an idea of the tone of the contest: http://bit.ly/coleman2018

The cost is $75/man and that includes golf, lunch, driving range privileges, 19th hole and drinks for the time on the course.  It also includes prize money for the winners, longest drive and closest to the pin.  The winners carry home the Coleman trophy and carry braggin' rights until next year's tourney.

In case you didn't know, Annbriar is widely considered one of the finest golf courses in da Lou.  Golf Advisor list it as a Top 10 course in the entire state of Illinois.  The food's good.  The beer is cold.  It's a great place for the Colemans to gather.

You can enter individually or in any combination of up to 4 golfers.  If you're short a golfer or two, don't worry, Joe will get you paired up.  We're coming up on the date on which we have to finalize the number of golfers so let us know you're playing as soon as you can.

Please RSVP to the Coleman that invited you so we know you're playing. Thanks. And good luck.

More to come. See your nearest Coleman for more information.

New Tourney Record for Lowest Score Wins 2018 Contest!

Shattering the all-time lowest score ever recorded in the uber competitive Coleman Invitational tournament, Joe Gaterman, Dave Gibbons, Chris Walters, and Rob Columbo sloshed into the clubhouse with a total of 41. The last recalled lowest score legend had the record at 77 some legions ago. (The actual tally and the holder were quickly forgotten, however and may not have been invited to return.)

"It's unlikely this score will ever be broken in our lifetimes," quipped one player in the clubhouse.  Another suggested an asterisk be added to the record to indicate a less than full round was played. Many were simply gladdened to be inside after the downpour that began on the 12th hole.
