Welcome to the Coleman Invitational

Johnny Moore with Trophy

Weather Favored Rookie Champ in 2017 Contest

The 2017 Coleman Invitational golf championship tournament started with billowing clouds on a windy autumn like day and ended unexpectedly.

Crowds gathered at the 19th hole to witness rookie attendee, Johnny Moore, raise (and kiss) the prize. Jeff Stephens, who shot an 82, unselfishly rescued the field from a sudden death playoff when he realized that Moore had actually shot an 81, not the 82 he had recorded on the scorecard. Longest drive of the day was on #10 by Brent Wingerter a four-time participant. And closest to the pin reward was collected by Matt Aul. Stephens was not just close to victory, but was actually handsomely rewarded for his skin play, collecting three of the five skins.

High winds marked the beginning of the day that brought rain and cold, just miserable conditions for the players. Fearing for their future, some left the course at the turn. Only men were left.

2010 Coleman Invitational Was A Winner!

The day began in muted tones of clouds and drizzle but ended with a bang as the 2010 Coleman Invitational concluded by setting a new record.  For the first time ever in Coleman Invitational history (or any other history), the winner was a four-time repeat champion!  Mr. Bob Carter turned in a solid 84 to dazzle the crowd and dismay his hungry opponents.

2014 Winner Braun Holds Trophy

Rookie Shocks All: Wins 2014 Coleman Invitational!

Columbia Golf Club had witnessed more Coleman Invitationals than any other in the history of the game.  Following a bachelor party scramble a half-hour late off the tee box Saturday, the 2014 Coleman Invitational launched with the power of a mighty, yet chilly, tailwind to produce the day's first birdie on the opening par 5.  When it was all over, history again would be made by first time invitee Dave Braun who stunned the fierce competition into silence, then applause.  Suddenly the crowd realized the near eight-peat champion Bob Carter would have to start another streak another day, because this day all the glory belonged to the rookie Braun.
